I know I've complained about here before about bad brake experiences, so I wanted to share a good one for a change. My 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee needed front pads and rotors again, and this time I decided to go with a place that specializes in Jeeps rather than a general garage. I found a shop through a friend that has advanced Jeep brake service specialists who actually take the time to do things properly. They didn't just slap on new parts and send me on my way. They cleaned and lubricated the caliper pins, replaced the hardware kit, used a torque wrench on every bolt, and even took the car for a test drive to bed in the pads properly. They noticed that my rear brakes were wearing unevenly and showed me that one of the caliper slides was sticking, so they cleaned and rebuilt that too. Total cost was 1,600 for front and rear pads plus front rotors, which is very reasonable for the quality of work. The car stops smoothly and quietly now. If you're tired of garages that rush through brake jobs, find a specialist. It makes all the difference. I'm not naming the shop because I don't want to seem like a shill, but if you PM me I'll tell you. Just wanted to put this out there for other Jeep owners who are frustrated like I was.
