My 2019 Charger Scat Pack has been feeling a bit lazy lately, the throttle response isn't as sharp as it was when I first got it and the exhaust note seems a little muted too, like the engine isn't breathing as freely as it should. No check engine light and the car still moves when I put my foot down, but it just doesn't have that same violent shove it used to have. I've been keeping up with oil changes and using good fuel, but the car has about 90k on it now and I'm wondering if the intake valves need carbon cleaning since the 6.4 Hemi is direct injection. I've heard mixed opinions on whether carbon buildup is actually an issue on these engines or if it's more of a problem on the smaller displacement direct injection engines. Before I start chasing potential problems I'd like to find a shop that can properly diagnose and maximize engine performance Dodge Dubai , somewhere that can do before and after dyno runs or at least data logging to see if the engine is making the power it should. Dynostar seems to handle a lot of Mopar performance stuff and they list engine diagnostics and carbon cleaning services. Anyone with a 6.4 Hemi had noticeable power loss that was fixed with a carbon cleaning, or was it something else like a clogged air filter or failing knock sensors pulling timing? Also curious if these engines benefit from an oil catch can to reduce future carbon buildup or if that's overkill for a naturally aspirated engine that's just driven on the street.
